About me
Charlotte Lang is a young, rising Swiss-Dutch alto and baritone saxophonist, multi-instrumentalist, composer and improviser, born in Basel.
Her debut album “The Journey”, which will be released on October 25, 2024 by Unit Records in the newly launched Alpha Edition, presents the young jazz musician with original compositions that move stylistically within modern jazz.

She completed her bachelor's degree in jazz and her master's degree in jazz pedagogy at the Hochschule für Musik Basel with Domenic Landolf, Dani Blanc and Günter Wehinger, among others.
In July 2023, she completed her Master in Performance at the renowned Berklee College of Music in Boston under the artistic direction of Danilo Pérez and studied with music greats such as John Patitucci, George Garzone, Godwin Louis and Frank Tiberi. Charlotte was part of Terri Lyne Carrington's “Institute of Jazz and Gender Justice”.
Charlotte Lang is part of the Swiss Jazz Orchestra and was part of the renowned Bundesjazzorchester (BuJazzO) from 2020 - 2022.
Her love of music goes far beyond the saxophone - for Charlotte, jazz music is a open-minded and tolerant art form. Her unwavering dedication to the pursuit of this music is reflected in her compositions and in her playing.
In 2020 she was one of the selected participants of Nicole Johänntgen's Swiss SOFIA project (Support of Female Improvising Artists).
In 2023 she was one of five musicians selected as “Sisters in Jazz” in the USA.
